Submissions

Swan Abbey Press publishes two-to-three titles a year, with a view to add one or two works in translation to our regular catalog beginning in 2027. We seek novels and short story collections that align with our mission to give voice to emerging and mid-career writers. As such, we do not accept agented submissions or submissions from authors who are under contractual obligation to a literary agency. We are interested in the voices of women from the regions of the South, the Deep South, the Midwest, and the North American and Caribbean Francophone diaspora. While our efforts are devoted to these writers, we will consider all works of great literary merit.

We do not accept genre fiction, although we welcome writing that borrows some elements of genre fiction with regard to the speculative, the gothic, and the supernatural. We also consider mythic retellings and works that cast regional folklore in new light.

We read submissions in June only.
